Immigrant Communities

A New York municipal ID; a five-language campaign in San Jose

Immigrant Communities

Two campaigns, two coasts, one job: tell people they belong here.

IDNYC · NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, Dept. of Health & Mental Hygiene

IDNYC is a free, government-issued photo ID for every resident of New York City, built for the people who have the hardest time getting one: people experiencing homelessness, youth, the elderly, undocumented immigrants, the formerly incarcerated. The campaign put it everywhere New York actually stands still: subway squares, overheads and two-sheets, bus kings, transit shelters, check-cashing posters, in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Communicator Awards Silver Award of Distinction, Public Service Advertising, 2015.

One County One Future · Santa Clara County Office of Immigrant Relations

Positioning the Office of Immigrant Relations as resource, advocate, and protector of the county's immigrants, in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Chinese. The line held in every language: one county, one future. Un condado, un futuro. Isang condado, isang hinaharap. The buy matched the ambition: bus queens and kings, billboards, light-rail Center Stages, convenience stores, restaurants, bars, standees, radio, print, digital. Communicator Awards Gold Award of Excellence, Outdoor/Transit, 2018, and a published evaluation report.
